RARE CASED PAIR of QE II HM STERLING SILVER GOBLETS
A Rare Cased Pair of Queen Elizabeth II Hallmarked Sterling Silver Limited Edition City of York Goblets by the Barker Ellis Silver Co. The Goblets have a height of 4 3/8" with a diameter to the upper rims of 3" and a diameter to the bases of 2 5/8 with a combined weight of 10.5 oz or 298 grams. The Goblets stand on circular bases with baluster stems and excellent shape to the body and a bright gilt interior (see photo's). Each is engraved with the coat of Arms of York with the date AD 71 to AD 1971 and made to mark the 1000 year Anniversary of the founding of the City of York with only 1900 of the Goblets made with these two being No 1647 and No 1648 (see photo's). The Case is 7 1/2" in length with a width of 3 7/8" with a height of 5 1/2 with the inside having fitted blue velvet rests for the goblets with a padded silk linning to the lid with the outside finished in Blue and a single brass catch to the front. Town Mark - Anchor - Birmingham. Lion Passant - Sterling Mark. Date Letter - w - 1971. Also marked to the inside of the base for the Limited Edition numbers 1647 1648 and to the centre H.
